Imranur Finishes Seventh in 100m Semi-Final at Asian Games

Bangladesh’s fastest man Imranur Rahman finished seventh among eight runners in the first heat of the men’s 100m semi-final at the Asian Games, clocking 10.44 seconds.

Imranur had secured a place in the semi-finals after finishing among the top 24 runners in the opening round. He clocked 10.49 seconds in the first round, making a slight improvement in the semi-final, but it was not enough to challenge for a place in the final.

Reflecting on his performance, Imranur said, “It is not always possible to produce your best timing. However, the positive thing is that my injury did not get worse.”

Despite improving his time slightly, Imranur was not satisfied with the result. He said he wants to identify the areas where he made mistakes and return stronger in the future.

The sprinter also reached the semi-finals at the Asian Indoor Championships this year, after previously reaching finals and winning at the event in earlier editions.

Imranur described this year as a period of returning to competition and hopes to use it as a platform for the next season. He said winning a gold medal at the Asian Indoor Championships remains his proudest achievement, but he wants to achieve more for Bangladesh.

According to Imranur, the next two years of his career will be particularly important as he looks to make a stronger comeback.
