The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has formed a three-member Election Commission (EC) ahead of the BCB Board of Directors Election 2025. The announcement was made through a press release on Saturday (6 September).
According to the BCB’s constitution and regulations, the commission has been formed with three distinguished members. Senior Supreme Court lawyer Mohammad Hossain will serve as the Chief Election Commissioner.
The other two members of the commission are Md. Sibgat Ullah, Additional Inspector General of Police (CID), and the Executive Director (Joint Secretary) of the National Sports Council (NSC).
The press release stated that the commission will conduct and complete all activities of the BCB Board of Directors Election 2025.
The newly formed commission will now announce the official date of the BCB elections. Earlier, following a board meeting in Sylhet on 1 September, it was revealed that the elections are likely to be held in the first week of October.
