The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced the schedule for the upcoming home ODI and T20I series against New Zealand. The Tigers will play three ODIs and three T20Is against the Black Caps. To conserve electricity, all matches in the series have been brought forward.
According to the schedule, all ODI matches will start at 11:00 AM. The first two ODIs will be held in Mirpur on April 17 and 20, while the third and final ODI will take place on April 23 in Chattogram.
Meanwhile, the T20I series will begin on April 27, with all matches starting at 2:00 PM. The first two T20Is will be played in Chattogram on April 27 and 29, and the final match will be held in Mirpur on May 1.
The change in match timings has been made considering electricity conservation. The ODIs have been scheduled in the morning to utilize daylight, while the T20Is will be played in the afternoon.
Earlier, on Wednesday (April 8), BCB’s ad-hoc committee chief Tamim Iqbal hinted at advancing the match timings during a press conference.
Speaking to reporters after the board meeting, Tamim said that the schedule was adjusted to support the government’s decision on electricity conservation by maximizing the use of daylight for the matches.
