Bangladesh National Team Bowling Coach Shaun Tait has stepped down from his role due to family reasons, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced on Thursday.
According to the BCB, Tait informed the board of his personal circumstances and initially expressed a desire to continue in the position on a reduced schedule. However, after discussions between both parties, it was mutually agreed that resigning from the role would be the most appropriate decision.
The former Australia fast bowler joined Bangladesh's coaching staff in May 2025 and played a key role in the development of the country's pace-bowling unit. During his tenure, Bangladesh's fast bowlers made significant strides in skill, consistency and effectiveness across formats, helping establish one of the team's strongest pace attacks in recent years.
Tait was also part of a successful period for Bangladesh cricket, with the national side producing several notable performances and results during his time with the team.
Reflecting on his departure, Tait said the decision had been difficult but necessary.
"It has been a privilege to work with the Bangladesh National Team and to be part of a talented and committed group of players and support staff. This was not an easy decision, and I sincerely appreciate the understanding and support shown by the BCB throughout our discussions," Tait said.
"I am proud of what the pace bowlers have achieved and I believe they have an exciting future ahead. I wish the team every success going forward."
The BCB thanked Tait for his contribution to Bangladesh cricket and wished him success in his future endeavors.
