Bangladesh have recalled pacers Mustafizur Rahman, Nahid Rana and Taskin Ahmed for the upcoming T20I series against touring Australia. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) also announced that Towhid Hridoy will serve as the vice-captain of the T20I side.
The 15-member squad was announced on Thursday by the national selection panel led by chief selector Habibul Bashar Sumon. All matches of the series will be played in Chattogram.
Towhid Hridoy replaces Saif Hassan as the team's vice-captain. Saif, who had been serving as Litton Das' deputy in the format, stepped down from the role to focus more on his batting.
As a result, Hridoy will now assist captain Litton Das in Bangladesh's T20I setup.
The squad also sees the return of three frontline pacers — Mustafizur Rahman, Nahid Rana and Taskin Ahmed. Nahid has been included in the T20I squad after not being selected for Bangladesh's upcoming one-off Test against Zimbabwe later this month.
Meanwhile, Ripon Mondol and Tanzim Hasan, who featured in Bangladesh's most recent T20I series against New Zealand, have been ruled out due to injuries. Pace-bowling all-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin has also been left out of the squad for the Australia series.
