One vice-president and two executive members, have resigned from the Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA).

The officials are Vice-President Sarwat Siraj Shukla and executive members Syed Rumman Bin Wali Sabbir and Habibur Rahman Jamil.

Their resignations came on Tuesday, October 13, amid discussions over Bangladesh’s achievements and shortcomings at the recently concluded Asian Games.

BOA Secretary General Zobaidur Rahman Rana confirmed to the media that the association had received resignation letters from all three officials.

We have received the letters from Vice-President Shukla and members Jamil and Sabbir. Steps will now be taken in accordance with the association’s constitution and the guidelines of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), -Rana said.

The current BOA committee was elected on November 30 last year for a four-year term. The resignations came less than a year into the committee’s tenure.

According to reports, all three officials cited personal reasons in their resignation letters.
