Bangladesh-Nepal Second Friendly Match Postponed Over Security Concerns

The second international friendly match between Bangladesh and Nepal has been postponed due to security concerns following protests in Nepal. The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) confirmed the decision in an official statement.

Protests led by young people in Kathmandu have erupted against the shutdown of social media and corruption, with reports in local media stating that at least 14 people have been killed in clashes between demonstrators and law enforcement agencies.

Considering the current situation in the country, ANFA announced the postponement of Tuesday’s (9 September) match against Bangladesh.

In its statement, ANFA said the “Red Bull International Football 2025” match, scheduled to be played between Nepal and Bangladesh at the Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwar, has been postponed due to the prevailing circumstances in the country.

ANFA also apologized to football supporters for the inconvenience caused by the postponement.

Bangladesh had drawn 0-0 with hosts Nepal in the first of the two friendlies, played on Saturday (6 September) at Kathmandu’s Dasharath Stadium.
