Two bros ‘Nazim and Dulal played in same group for the last round . The overnight leader Md Sagor was grouped with them. Bangladesh heard the music of ‘golf swing of these co-mate bros many a times in the past.
The elder Nazim snatched SAARC runners up trophy in 2013 at Delhi. Before that ‘Dulal was a member of history making gold winning team at SAF games in 2010. This gold winning team turned the history of Bangladesh Golf before Siddikur first win in Asian Tour (Brunei Open).
Who will forget about the younger one ‘Dulal’s another business at first Asian tour in Bangladesh? He made best score record for a single day with 08 under par. That was broken by a Korean golfer later in 2016. Besides, Dulal did show skill in PGTI also from 2016 to 2019.
This speaks ,they had been going through some patches of ‘ups and down in regards to performance.
Back to this tournament, the overnight leader Md Sagor missed an approach shot landed on rough near left side bunker of hole 18. Next shot was a ‘pitching stopped at distance of approx. 13 yards. So he missed the next putting. And finished at boggy to fall back to 01 under par. Remember he lost taka 50000/= for a single shot.
In other hand, Nazim 2nd shot from the mid of fairway 18 landed on green at 08 yards from the hole. So Nazim took the hole by par whereas ‘ Sagor was forced to embrace a boggy.
That called a ‘play off and toss of coin for the final round . What a round of golf. The 2nd leader group had a finisher ‘golfer Akber with 02 under par. That invited Akber to join Nazim in tee 18.
With the toss from Mr Nuru the observer on course , Nazim drive shot saw the mid fairway and again the beautiful approach shot landed on green 04 yards short of the hole.
Akber lost the nerve and his drive shot went to rough at right. So his 2nd shot completely missed the green for a huge distance that made him a boggy for the hole.
So the first feeder tour of the year without the champs like Jamal, Badal , Siddikur, RT Parash saw a new champion Md Nazim a player nursed by ‘Paragon Group. Nazim pocketed taka 100,000 for 54 holes.
