Bangladesh's Sri Lanka tour fixtures announced

Bangladesh are all set to visit Sri Lanka for a full bilateral series, featuring two Tests, three ODIs and as many T20 Internationals between June and July.

With the two-match Test series, both teams will kick-start the new World Test Championship cycle.

Bangladesh will arrive in Sri Lanka on June 13. The tour, however, will kick off with the Test series with the first match beginning from June 17 at Galle. Colombo will host the second and final Test from June 25.

The Test series will be followed by three ODIs, scheduled for July 2, 5 and 8. The first two matches will be held in Colombo while the third and final match is in Pallekele.

Pallekele will also host the first T20 on July 10. The last two T20 matches will be held in Dambulla and Colombo on July 13 and 16.

Bangladesh have never toured in Sri Lanka for a full bilateral series, featuring all three formats. Their last tour in Sri Lanka was in 2021 in
which they played two Tests and lost the series by 1-0 after securing a draw in the first Test, thanks to a 163 and 127 runs knock from Najmul Hossain Shanto and the then captain Mominul Haque respectively.

They played their last ODI series in Sri Lanka in 2019-- a three-match series in which they were whitewashed. Their last tour for T20 format in Sri Lanka was in 2017--a two-match series that was drawn 1-1.

Before the Sri Lanka tour, Bangladesh will tour in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Pakistan in May. In those two countries, they will play seven T20 matches-- two in the UAE and five in Pakistan.

Most recently Bangladesh played a two-match Test series against Zimbabwe at home and the series was drawn 1-1.
